If you are staying local this holiday weekend, there is plenty to check out! Show your Maugansville pride, see the Airshow at the Martinsburg’s National Guard or join the canines for some fun and games at the Ag Center during the Bassett Hound Rescue Walk. Oh and don’t forget to see the first Corn Maze of the season! Have fun…

Saturday, September 4th
9am – 5pm Hagerstown Maugansville Pride Day
Craft vendors, food, entertainment by Heavenly Harmony, country and western dance demonstrations, Maryland State Police dog demonstration, bluegrass music by Stoney Creek Band and candidate karaoke. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Maugansville Ruritan Park, Maugansville. Call Jay at 301-739-9221.

9am – 4:30pm Martinsburg Air show
West Virginia National Guard’s 167th Airlift Wing will host an open house and Thunder Over the Blue Ridge Air Show, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Army parachute team Golden Knights and a welcome-home celebration for American military personnel. 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5. 167th Airlift Wing West Virginia Air National Guard, Shepherd Field, Martinsburg, W.Va. 12pm near Maugansville Corn maze
Celebration Farm opens its eight-acre corn maze. Features several smaller mazes, including a Little Heiskell design. Open 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Special Labor Day hours from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 6. Other days by appointment. Celebration Farm, 17638 Garden View Road, near Maugansville. 1pm – 5pm Hagerstown Trains for everyone

11am activities Sharpsburg Pike Basset Hound Rescue Walk
Hundreds of basset hounds and their owners will walk to raise money for Basset Rescue of the Old Dominion. Contest and games will follow, including a 25-foot-tall Hush Puppies inflatable balloon. 10 a.m., walk begins; 11 a.m., games, contests and auctions. Walk will be at Antietam National Battlefield, Sharpsburg Pike, near Sharpsburg. Games will be at Washington Agricultural Education Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown. 2pm Hagerstown Paintings
Tamara Hoffman’s paintings are on display. 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, reception with music by cellist Mia Hoover and light refreshments.
