Help! My son is 4 and still wants his pacifier (he only uses it when sleeping/napping). Santa took it on Christmas this year but he is having a tough time adjusting. I agree with letting him have it minimally at night to help him sleep. He will give it up when he is ready and at 4, it may be more about someone insisting him giving it up than the pacifier itself. 4 years is a very willful age where they are trying to find out how much “power” they actually have since they are now “big” boys & girls. I know I may be alittle late, by now your son may be done with the pacifier…but in the event he is not, here what we did do rid our child of the bottle. We threw it in the trash and told him that the garbage man needed it for his child…we watched as the garbage man took it away. With him seeing this, he diffinetely knew it was gone…no more…[Read more]

if you can go without it, do so! my youngest loved hers and it went so far as to change the alignment of her teeth and contribute to speech issues… i wish i’d have taken it away much sooner… on a good note, her perm. teeth have come in fine so far so thats good, we were worried!
